Why use a bonded or free trade zone warehouse?

Goods held in a bonded or free trade zone warehouse are treated as not yet imported. Duty and GST are suspended until the goods are released into Singapore.

If the goods are re-exported instead, duty and GST on those goods are generally not payable in Singapore. This makes Singapore a practical hub for regional distribution.

You can also release stock in smaller lots as you sell it, paying duty and GST only on what you take out, which helps your cash flow.
